The Group, the Sussex social club for unattached men and women, which has been bringing people aged 55+ together since 2006, started monthly meetings in Eastbourne in September.

The Group isn’t a dating organisation and it isn’t a business. It is a volunteer-run club whose fee is just £20 a year. For that, members receive an emailed diary full of events all over the county twice every month.

Tricia from The Group said:

We were so pleased to welcome seventeen new Eastbourne members in September. The events on our diary are planned by the members. Want to go to an event on the diary? Contact the organiser. Turn up. That’s it. Monthly club nights also take place in Lewes, Worthing, Brighton, Burgess Hill and Pease Pottage. We have Welcomers at our monthly club nights. No walking into a room feeling uncomfortable. The Welcomers are there to do just that, welcome you.
